Taipei 2025 Wireless Charging Technology Forum Highlights impact of Qi2 on wireless charging

Wireless Power Consortium Vice Chair, Tony Francesca, was a featured speaker at the 2025 Wireless Charging Technology Forum in Taipei.  The Wireless Charging Technology Forum brings together global experts to discuss the latest developments in wireless power. This year’s event focused on the evolution of the WPC Qi2 magnetic wireless charging standard, including the introduction of Qi v2.2.1, which supports up to 25W high-speed charging.  Tony’s presentation, available below, and speakers from WPC member companies, NXP, STMicroelectronics, NuVolta, and ConvenientPower, shared updates on market adoption, certification processes, and new applications in smartphones, vehicles, and consumer electronics. The forum highlighted how the Qi2 standard is accelerating the move toward faster, safer, and more interoperable wireless-charging technologies across industries.  The event was co-hosted by Avnet, a leading global technology distributor and solutions provider, and Digitimes, Taiwan's leading tech media, specializing in semiconductor, AI, and EV supply chain insights.
