Building on the success of its Qi standard, WPC announced the Qi2 standard in late 2023. Qi2 was a leap forward in speed, energy efficiency, and convenience. The market responded enthusiastically and within its first year Qi2 was already enabled on over 1.5 billion wireless devices across the globe.
And now, Qi2 has taken another leap forward with the introduction of the Qi2 25W standard for even faster, more energy efficient charging. Delivering nearly 70% more charging power than the original Qi2, Qi2 25W can wirelessly charge a fully depleted smartphone battery to 50% charge in about 30 minutes.

That buzzing you’re hearing may be the visitors to the WPC booth who stopped to sample a variety of the speedy new Qi2 25W chargers or experience the wonder of the Ki Cordless Kitchen. Not all of the 148,000+ CES attendees made it to the WPC booth, but those that did were in for a treat. Those interested in wireless charging of phones were able to play with new Qi2 25W chargers from Anker, Belkin, Aukey, Satechi, Nomad, Scosche, Nimble and UGREEN, as well as other new charging devices from Aircharge and Mophie.
On the KI side of the WPC booth, demonstrations of Ki enabled blenders, kettles, toasters and food processors on a variety of different dual function induction cooktops and concealed transmitters dazzled visitors. It wasn’t surprising to hear a number of visitors comment, “ this is the most innovative product I’ve seen at CES!” after watching the Ki standard in action.

It may just seem like magic. Here's everything you wanted to know about Qi wireless charging...and then some.
In a marketplace flooded with cheap tech and copycat products, you really need to be careful and know what you’re buying. When it comes to wireless charging, there’s a reason why some wireless chargers are so cheap – they simply don't go through the rigorous safety testing that certified wireless charging products do.
