CES 2026 – More Power, Coming Up!

In the original Star Trek series, Captain Kirk would frequently beseech his Chief Engineer with a plea of “Scotty, I need more power!”

Scotty, I need more power!

We can’t speak for Scotty, but if you attended CES 2026 you’ll see that WPC certainly got the message.  Whether you were interested in wireless charging for your smartphone or wireless power for kitchen appliances, the theme was certainly more power in the WPC booth.

Visitors to the WPC booth were able to see and sample some of the latest Qi2 25W wireless charging devices from WPC members including Anker, Aukey, Belkin, Nimble, Nomad, Satechi, Scosche, and UGREEN.  Announced in July, 2025, Qi2 25W devices build on the success of Qi2 but at 25W of power the newest Qi2 25W devices can charge as fast as 0-50% battery power in 30 minutes.

Faster, more energy efficient and more convenient.  Just what consumers have asked for? Maybe that’s why WPC certified over 1200 new Qi2 and Qi2 25W devices in 2025.

Then there is Ki, and that’s even a bigger power story. While Qi2 25W delivered a big boost from Qi2’s initial 15W launch, Ki delivers up to 2200W of power to kitchen appliances without power cords or batteries.  Visitors to WPC’s booth saw demonstrations of Ki enabled blenders, kettles, toasters, food processors and a waffle maker along with non-working prototypes of air fryers and juicers. WPC members Philips, E.G.O., Jabil, Midea and WMF dazzled attendees with prototypes demonstrating Ki’s capabilities.   The most common question:  “where can I buy these appliances?”   Unfortunately, the answer is nowhere yet, but with the specification released and certification testing now in place as of this past summer, Ki products could begin appearing in some markets as early as end of 2026.  More will roll out in 2027 and 2028.

Want another chance to see Ki in action?  See us at KBIS February 17-19, 2026 in Orlando, Florida.  Ki will be sharing a booth with WPC member, FreePower, and we’ll have some exciting demonstrations of Ki concealed transmitters lit up with FreePower’s Charging Halo™.
