Ki Wows Crowds at KBIS

Thanks to the generosity of FreePower, a remarkable, award winning innovator in wireless charging technology, Ki was able to participate in this year’s Kitchen and Bath International Show (KBIS) in Orlando, FL.  KBIS is the premier kitchen and bath event in North America, an excellent venue to demonstrate the Ki Cordless Kitchen.  Thank you FreePower!

FreePower has developed the most advanced wireless charging solution for countertops, bringing effortless power to people where they want it, including their kitchen countertops.  Noting the natural synergy between FreePower’s wireless charging solutions for mobile phones in the kitchen and Ki’s undercounter transmitters for powering kitchen appliances without cords, FreePower offered WPC space in their booth to demonstrate Ki. And the response from visitors who came by the FreePower booth was, no pun intended…well maybe a little bit intended…was electric!

After 3 days of non-stop demonstrations to a steady stream of kitchen designers, cabinet manufacturers, countertop fabricators, appliance retailers, distributors, and builders, we can safely say that consumers can’t wait for Ki.  After seeing the Ki demo, the most common response from booth visitors was, “When can I have it?”  That’s a gratifying response to get since these booth visitors deal with homeowners or intermediaries to homeowners every day.  When the people closest to consumer demand are this excited about a technology, it signals something real about where the market is heading.

An exciting visual added to the KBIS demonstration was the FreePower Charging Halo.  The halo identified the spot on the countertop where the Ki concealed transmitter was mounted with a glowing white light.  The light turned blue when a Ki enabled appliance was placed on the countertop over the transmitter and then turned red when power was activated.  In future implementation, we envision the FreePower Charging Halo being a great way for consumers to know exactly where to place their Ki-enabled appliances without having to mark their countertop.

Visitors to the booth marveled at seeing Ki deliver up to 2,200 watts of cordless power to kitchen appliances through a beautiful Silestone countertop by Cosentino. Because of limited space, we only had a few appliances to demonstrate at KBIS, but Ki will be able to deliver power to run virtually any kitchen appliance that requires up to 2200 watts of electricity to operate – blenders, kettles, air fryers, food processors, waffle makers, juicers, toasters…the opportunities are endless. All with no cords and no clutter. Just place the appliance down and it works.

Ki Certified appliances are on the way and based on the excitement at KBIS, the industry is ready for them. Learn more here: www.cookwithki.com
