In the original Star Trek series, Captain Kirk would frequently beseech his Chief Engineer with a plea of “Scotty, I need more power!”

We can’t speak for Scotty, but if you attended CES 2026 you’ll see that WPC certainly got the message when it came to wirelessly powering appliances in the kitchen.
WPC’s latest wireless power standard, Ki, delivers up to 2200W of power to kitchen appliances without power cords or batteries. Visitors to WPC’s booth saw demonstrations of Ki enabled blenders, kettles, toasters, food processors and a waffle maker along with non-working prototypes of air fryers and juicers. WPC members Philips, E.G.O., Jabil, Midea and WMF dazzled attendees with prototypes demonstrating Ki’s capabilities.
The most common question: “Where can I buy these appliances?” Unfortunately, the answer is nowhere yet, but now that the specification has been released and certification testing is in place as of this past summer, Ki products could begin appearing in some markets as early as end of 2026. More will roll out in 2027 and 2028.
Want another chance to see Ki in action? See us at KBIS February 17-19, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. Ki will be sharing a booth with WPC member, FreePower, and we’ll have some exciting demonstrations of Ki concealed transmitters lit up with FreePower’s Charging Halo™.
By joining the WPC you will become a key player in shaping and advancing wireless power standards. WPC members gain invaluable insights to compete more successfully and lead the charge in introducing cutting-edge wireless power transfer products to the market.
