This transmitter, called A4, uses two coils to enable a low-cost battery charger with increased freedom to position a Qi-capable phone on the charging surface. The Qi specification is available as download from the website. You can find the new transmitter as "Addendum 2" inserted at the end of the document. The WPC has open regular membership seats for semiconductor companies, mobile phone companies, battery manufacturers, and companies in the mobile computing industry. July 23, 2010 - The Qi low power standard is readyJuly 23, 2010 - The Wireless Power Logo License Agreement is availableJuly 13, 2010 - start of medium power standardizationThe finalization of the low power (5 Watt) specification gives us room to start work on extending the Qi standard to medium power. The medium power specification will cover power transfer up to 120 Watt. For the work on medium power we will increase the maximum number of regular members to 18 (the maximum is currently 10).
